This is another outfit that I built around a headband. I went thru SEVERAL outfits before I settled on something that I thought would work with the headband. After finally deciding on this outfit, I was having a hard time figuring out what shoes to wear- I was leaning toward comfort more than anything because it had been a LONG week and I knew we would be walking a lot.

I must say that I was not entirely sure of this outfit, but as I look at the pics now I think it turned out nicely! Also, I CANNOT play foosball!! I think I actually made contact with the ball twice during the game!! But it made for some nice pics and good laughs! ;)

Turquoise and Red (Holiday Hair Challenge #3)

For my husband's work Christmas party, I decided to try turquoise and red together. I've been seeing this color combo on some other blogs lately, and I've been wanting to try it, I just wasn't sure how it would look. Well, I love it! I love how the colors make each other pop more and look really fun and festive together. This is one of those outfits that I really felt pretty awesome in ;)
Don't you love this turtle ring? I found it at this store, The Jewelry Box, for $1!! $1!! I know that if I wear it too much, it will turn my finger green, but still, $1! The Jewelry Box is one of those stores where everything (jewelry, hair accessories, some cosmetics, etc) is $1. There's a lot of "cheap" looking stuff, but if you dig hard enough, you can find some real gems (get it? Jewelry store... gems? Hee hee).
I was also able to incorporate another one of my holiday hair challenges. I didn't think my hair would stay like this all night, but it did! Do you ever have those days where it feels like everything goes right? This night was one of those. Plus, there was a TON of yummy food at the party, and N and I had a Starbucks date afterwards... I love my life! :)

On the Route Again

One of the things I LOVE about Mexico is that it is a continual summer here!!! I know the rule about no white shoes after Labor Day, but when it feels like summer all year round, it is hard to follow those rules… When I saw these Mexican crocs, I was pretty excited!! Cute, comfortable, easy to clean (since one of the downsides of Mexico is that it is very dusty and dirty), and cheap!!! My favorite combination for shoes! What I did not take into account was that they are made out of plastic so my feet sweat like no one’s business in them! Oh well, lesson learned about plastic shoes…
The bus is featured in my pics not because it matched my outfit, but because it is our form of transportation on Saturdays as we go to visit all the kids that come to church with us. Sometime in the future I am going to post some pics of the roads we navigate in this awesome yellow bus!

Sunrise, Sunset

When we got a last minute offer for complimentary tickets to go see Fiddler on the Roof, I was so excited! I don't think I've ever been to see a play put on by professionals before, so it was a totally new experience. I wasn't really sure what level of formality in clothing was required, so I shot for somewhere in between super casual and super dressy. As it turned out, people's clothing hit both ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between, so this outfit was just fine.


The play was awesome, and the theater was beautiful! The Plaza was built in the late 20's and redone in the late 90's/ early 2000's. My favorite part was the ceiling- it's painted blue and lights up like a sky with starlight. To see pictures of this beautiful theatre, you may visit their website here.

O Give Thanks

Thanksgiving Day!!! So much to be thankful for...starting with the fact I was wearing an outfit that cost me a total of $1!!! lol Also thankful for thrift stores!! But on a more serious note, thankful for good people to share the holiday with! Thankful that I grew up in a country that was founded on godly principles and that I grew up celebrating a whole day just to give thanks to God!! After living in several foreign countries I am so much more grateful for my American, Christian heritage than ever!!

Also featured are my first ever made from scratch cinnamon rolls!! Which I might add were DELICIOUS!! I think I started a new holiday tradition with those rolls!!!

These pictures are from the second day of my birthday trip to San Antonio. We had so much fun exploring San Antonio! There's so much to do there, and it really is a beautiful city. Someone once told me that Texas Hill Country is "God's country" and after having visited there, I see why they think that. I'll have to share more pics of the scenery in another post.
My sister made me this scarf. Like I mentioned before in my post about my mustache hat, she has her own business and can make pretty much anything you ask her to. I had her make this scarf with the colors of the Chicago Bears and I think it turned out great! I even had several people stop me and compliment me on it, which is always nice! Plus, it kept me warm since San Antonio ended up being a little chillier than I had planned for.

Okay, so this was a fun day!!! First school, then off to help at my boss's house! The fun thing was that I got to bake all the pies for Thanksgiving (yes I know these are from a long time ago...)!

I really love the turquoise and pink together...and had every intention of wearing the headband as a headband, but unfortunately my hair was not cooperating!! But I am quite stubborn and was determined to incoporate this headband into an outfit, so I compromised and used it as a belt...I think it turned out nicely!
