Crazy Christmas

Ok, before I show you these pictures, I have to make sure that you are prepared... do you remember last week, I told you about our ladies' Christmas party at church? Well, it was last night, and it was awesome!!! There were lots of great costumes and the ones that won were amazing- I should have taken pictures, but I didn't... I was more worried about not letting my headband fall off my head. You'll see why in a minute. Ok, are you ready?

This outfit was so fun to put together. I already had the shoes (I just added a little bow on them), the green tee, and the denim skirt. My friend Lindsay and I went out thrifting on Friday to find pieces for our outfits, and that's when I found the top, the sweater that I cut up to make leg warmers, and the purse. All in all, I think I spent like $6 for those three things. To make my headband, I used some ribbon I bought in a bag of ribbon for $1 at Goodwill, a bird & pinecone clip I bought at the Dollar Tree, and some battery operated lights I found at Walgreen's.

In the last picture, I made sure to show off my lovely green eyeshadow... awesome, right? I bought an eye shadow palette at the Dollar Tree that had like 5 different shades of green. Do you want to know how nerdy I am? I searched on Pinterest for "smokey green eye" to get ideas on how to do my makeup... I know, that's a little overboard, but I love "researching" things on Pinterest!

Last but not least, I teased the living daylights out of my hair to get some serious "big hair" going on. You can't really see it because of the headband, but I had a huge poof of hair. I'm still trying to get all of the knots out my hair!

Although this is not a look that I'm expecting anyone to want to copy, I hope you can tell that we had lots of fun. And maybe next time you need an outfit that's a little crazy, you can get some ideas from my crazy Christmas outfit!

SpecTACKYlar Christmas Sweaters

So sorry I didn't post anything for Thrifted Thursday yesterday! I'm horrible, I know! BUT, I'm going thrifting today and I'm sure I'll come back with tons of stuff to show you.

One of the main things I'm looking for today is Christmas sweaters... you know, the kind that have cats in Santa hats, or caroling children, or reindeer... those kind! Our ladies' ministry at church is having our "Blinging In The New Year" Christmas party next week and I want to make sure I'm all blinged out and Christmased up!

I love to play around with Polyvore, so I came up with some things that I'm hoping to find and incorporate in to my look.

I have to confess something- when I went to post these, I had a small moment of panic because I COULDN'T FIND MY THANKSGIVING PICTURES!!! They weren't where I thought I had filed them! But, I found them- they just didn't make it in the right folder... phew!! Anyway, here's what I wore for Thanksgiving. I know it's not "traditional" Thanksgiving colors, but my husband wanted to wear a blue shirt, and I wanted to coordinate with him, at least a little, so this is what I came up with. It was actually super comfortable, and I was able to cook, crawl around with my adorable nephew and nieces, and even paper mache'! I did end up having to take the cardigan off because I felt a little warm... which was slightly embarrassing because this tee is VERY well worn (which means it has some holes in it), but it was just family, so who cares, right? ;)

I hope everybody had a happy and safe Thanksgiving- now it's time to plan for Christmas!

Another "cold" day in Mexico!! So I donned my cool tights and took on the cold with gusto!! :) I must say one of the things I miss about living in Indiana is the change in weather with the seasons. I love that it is always warm here, but I miss wearing my sweaters and tights. So whenever it gets even a little chilly, I pull out the tights. When I got to the Murillo's house after school to help out, everything was all decorated for fall- I was so excited!! I wanted to get the decorations in my pics, not sure how that really turned out, but... Also, I took a special picture of my flower cuz, one of my bestest friends (J) gave it to me!!

Thanksgiving outfits

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! :) I love this time of year, so I might as well make as much of every day as possible... which I guess is true for every time of the year!

What is everybody wearing for Thanksgiving dinner? Do you "dress up" some, or is it a pretty casual event? For our family, Thanksgiving dinner was always pretty much just "come as you are." So, some of us liked to try to look nice, some of us wore holey jeans and tees, and the rest were somewhere in between. To be honest, though, I don't really much remember what everybody wore, but I do remember all the crazy things that happen at our family dinners!  For several years, my youngest sister, my cousin, my grandpa and I sat at "the kids' table" while my parents and aunt and uncle sat at the "grownup's table." Guess which one was the loudest and got in the most trouble? ;) Two years ago, my soldier husband was home on R&R from Afghanistan for Thanksgiving so I got to spend some time with him. And of course, there's always all the pie, turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce... did you notice I mentioned pie first?

Anyway... back to Thanksgiving outfits... I haven't decided what I'm wearing yet... which I should probably get to, since we're leaving for Arizona today. Here's what M and I both wore last year:

I usually try to coordinate my "special occasion" outfits with N so we look cute in pictures (let's be honest, we always look cute... hee hee), I guess I'll wait and see what's he's planning to pack. I'll be sure to post pictures sometime next week.

On a more serious note, make sure that you take time over the next couple of days to be thankful for all the blessings we've been given. I know I often take so many things for granted- family, friends, a warm house, a closet full of clothes, shoes, food, a free country, an amazing husband, a reliable car, and the list goes on and on. I've been so blessed, and most of all, I've been given God's Son and the promise of a home in Heaven. Let's not forget to be grateful for all the blessings in our lives!

Long Sleeves Weather

It is FINALLY starting to cool off here...we actually had like 2 days that only got up to like 65!! :) Funny how, depending on where we are, 65 can be pretty cold or 65 can be pretty hot! For Mexico, 65 is kinda cool, so I decided that I would wear long sleeves. I really love the flowered shirt, but had not worn it before, because I did not know with what to pair it! I think it worked nicely with the green shirt.

A funny story to go along with this post...  I took one of the girls from the children's home with me to the bus route. From the time we left the church, she kept telling me how much her stomach hurt. Then every time someone offered her food, she willingly took it! She must have had a bag of chips, some fruit, and who knows what else!! I finally had to tell her to stop eating because she just would not stop!!

So that was my Saturday...oh, I almost forgot to mention that after doing homework, we watched a pretty neat movie called "The Perfect Game." Then I got in trouble for letting the girls watch a movie...;)

Happy Anniversary to us!!

Hello- J here! So, I know we're a little  a lot late.... but we just wanted to take a moment to celebrate that we've been writing Those Two Crazy girls for a year now... a whole year!!! Woot woot for us!! Thank you so much to everybody who has taken the time to read our little blog, and especially to everyone who has commented. We know everyone has busy lives, so we really appreciate you spending time with us!

I know that writing this has been very educational and lots of fun for me, and I was a little curious about how having our little project to work on has been for M. Here's what she had to say: (I also threw in my own answers, just in case anyone wants to know ;) )

1. Has writing a style blog changed how you dress every day? How?

M: I don't think I have changed how I dress so much since beginning the blog. I will say it has made me infinitely more aware of what I spend on clothes and where my clothes come from.

J: I think what having Those Two Crazy Girls has done for me is made me feel more confident about my choices. I used to worry a lot about if I "could" wear something, or if it was "cool" enough, but now, I've kind of developed the attitude of "If I think it's cool, then, yeah, it's cool!"  This has led to me having a few more slightly "off" outfits, but I've tried a lot of new things, as well!
2. What things have you learned or tried as a result of writing Those Two Crazy Girls?

M: I have to be completely honest, before I started this blog with J, I almost NEVER read any blogs, much less fashion blogs! :) So that being out in the open, I have learned lots of fashion words like color blocking and the such. I have tried new color combinations and taken TONS of pictures!

J: I've learned a lot about the design side of blogging- backgrounds, layouts, etc. It's been a lot of fun learning how to do new things like that. From a style aspect, I've tried new color combos and figured out more about my own style. I've also discovered a love for thrifting- before it was something that I could take or leave, but now, I love it- in fact, I hardly buy clothes new at all anymore.
3. What's the best part about writing our blog?

M: Hearing from people who are reading the blog!! Also, getting to "spend" time with my bestie J is a definite plus!!!

J: I definitely love having a project to work on with M- I think this one is turning out better than our homemade- without a recipe- funnel cake! ;) I also am enjoying getting to use my creativity and forcing myself to learn new stuff and step out of my comfort zone.
